My daughter's 2003 Ka needs a new clutch and we have had a quote of £334 from a local garage (Backwell Motors near Nailsea). Can anyone recommend an alternative place?

Mr clutch are usually cheapest. They get parts cheaper and repkaxe clutches day in day out. I would guess they would do it for about £250 or less.

I did consider them, but a google search turned up some stories of poor service and inflated prices, over and above their quote.

Prices above the quote are for extras, flywheel etc. Something that could happen at any garage.

If you get a quote for just the clutch and add nothing on then that is the price you will pay.

My friends that have used them have never had any issues with workmanship or overpricing.

They are a huge national firm so you will always find internet users which had a problem with them just as you would with your favourite garage if it was anywhere near as big. For every massive company that exists there will be plenty of negative reviews, be it true or false ones.
