I might be heading to Ashton Gate in a few weeks for the football. What's it like for parking near the ground? Any tips on where (or where not to) park?

Likely to be with my son (4) so ideally not a 2 hour walk from the ground if possible! Thanks.

Whenever i've gone there as an opposition fan, i always park on the Weston-s-mare road near the park and ride, facing the right way, never been a problem to get away, but i suppose it all depends on which way you have to head for?
10 min walk from the ground ??

you can park in bedminster without much drama, North street or Coronation road are the easiest, its on street parking but pretty safe. if you are on north street, go past the old gala bingo hall then find anywhere on the left.
there are some pubs and shops on the way to the ground but no problems for away fans.

coronation road is alongside the river, again
anywhere on the left should be fine, there are normally spaces up to 1430. once past the asda supermarket, just find a spot and its about 15 minsutes to the ground.

if the weather is good, you could park at @Bristol (its pricey but safe and underground) and walk along the docks. its a nice walk but its about 25 minutes to the ground which might be too much.

Don't park on the BS1 side of the river on Cumberland road

The parking spaces look like 'spaces' but they are coach only.

At least six parking attendants there every game. They tag team the road ticketing one car each then move on to the seventh...you have been warned.

Thanks folks. I'll check out some of the suggestions on the map, and decide on a plan! Would be coming from the Midlands, so down the M5, not sure what junction that would be, but will probably just be guided by the satnav.

Prob junction 18 then follow the A4 (Portway) along the river to the end where rd splits, go up the road over the river carry straight on (in left hand lane) for few mins then merge over to the left (there will be signs) From there I'm not sure where you'd go next for parking (the ground is first left at the roundabout you'll reach if you stay on the rd you'll have merged onto!)

Hope that helps a bit. I'd say hope you win but I have a good friend who is a City fan so can't do that!
