Off to Cornwall on Friday night so I was intending to fill the car when we stop off at the inlaws in Bristol. However are people there going mental like everyone in Swindon? If so I'll look for somewhere here first :-/ I'm hoping new deliveries come in and everything will be fine again. Even better no queues because a weekends worth has sold earlier in the week!

he idiots are out in force in Bath. We're doing a long(ish) journey too on Friday but will wait until the panickers have had their fun and the petrol stations have restocked (hopefully!).

Glad I avoided it today then! I'm planning on getting some fuel tomorrow morning - hopefully it'll be a bit quieter! I need fuel to get to work, so have no option sadly!

I am hopeful that there will be restocking by Fri evening and all the idiots will have full tanks. Otherwise the car that has the most petrol in it will be my Westfield. Not sure that will a. Get to Cornwall on a 28L tank, and b. fit 4 people and luggage! lol

Whats stupid, is all the quality drivers that drive around all day have been sensible and no petrol stations in the south west were overly busy today.

Unfortunately all the numpties came out of their offices at 5pm and queued up to get a thimble of fuel into their tanks to top it up.

You wouldnt believe what a difference you can see in drivers during the day compared to drivers at 5pm-6pm. Take a look at any roundabout and measure the number of horn beeps !!

I drive 45k a year and only ever see accidents at rush hour. I know the proportion of drivers increases but there you go.

Sorry Rant Over

I recommend you buy 4 x 20 litre jerry cans and fill up as much as possible if your worried. Or be sensible and "Stay Calm and Carry On"

The irony is that because my wide is insisting we take her Focus instead of my BMW touring we won't have room for the jerry cans on top of 4 people and luggage for a week! Doh. Just realised I need to drop my other BMW off at Redish Motorsport too so that will need £15 of fuel! FFS!

Filled up (because it was empty, not because I was stockpiling!) today at the M32 filling station, no queue (less than normal actually), no problem at all.

Given the prices I remember them charging I think there really would need to be a fuel crisis for them to run out!

Oddly since the refit they have been bizarrely cheap compared to elsewhere locally.

That's just the thing. There isn't any crisis. Some tanker drivers have given notice that they intend to strike in a week. They may not and even if they do the army are going to try and cover it!

Queuing outside the petrol station in Portishead this afternoon. I've got three quarters of a tank though so I'll not be joining them.

Tesco at Willowbrook in Sadly Broke ran out of unleaded today. It wasn't quite carnage but it soon might be.

I need diesel for a trip up north on Saturday so I tried Asda at Cribbs. HUGE queues back to the main road and staff in high viz trying to marshall it all! Tried the station in Avonmouth on my way home and found no queues at all. I blame the press for the usual hype and sensationalising of what is only threat. Rant over, off to buy a jerry can ;-)

But it doesn't normally block all of the roads around there though...

Went to pop in to Tesco in Ciren this morning after dropping the lad off to school and they are queuing out of the garage, around the back and onto the approach road to Tesco. The stupid thing is though there is a tanker there doing a delivery!!! banghead I mean they are sitting there worried about a shortage and there is tanker there!!! Shortage wot shortage smile

I popped up into the Shell garage on Love Lane Estate - straight in, no queue; just a polite sign asking that we only have 40 quids worth due to potential shortages...which I was happy to oblige.

Tank says 400 miles to go so enough for our trip to N Wales during the Easter break smile

They are still at it...

Had to go to Bath earlier today so went via Tetbury: Tesco's in Tetbury queuing back onto the road. Carrying along out of Tetbury on the A433 down to the A46 there are 2 garages neither of which had queues. On the way back the indie garage on the A46 had cones out (out of fuel) but the BP one nearer to Tetters didn't and had no queues.

Tesco's in Tetters? Yep queuing back onto the road still...rolleyes
