I've a few issues with a Polo GTI - mostly jerky / rattling DSG gear change - which need sorting. I've heard Heritage Bristol aren't great, so I've ruled them out. The car's only a few months old so cost isn't an element, I'm just after a decent workshop with a good reputation.

I don't mind traveling up to 50 miles from Bristol. Anyone any recommendations?

Thanks.

Friend of mine gets all his VWs and Audis looked after by Blade in Gloucester, and has done for years (they used to be another frachise iirc).

On the rare occasion I have used Heritage Bristol, they have been great including a warranty claim on my MK5 GTI which probably ran to £2k with only 6 weeks of cover left.

Can't say I've had any problems with Heritage either. Replaced my father's DSG box FOC when it was a few weeks beyond it's warranty. Yes, they'd had to have been bar stewards not to, but still saved him a fair whack.

For the avoidance of doubt, if I lived next door to Heritage I'd service any VW I owned elsewhere. I used to own a VR6.

Bath VW are great. I bought my old Touareg from Heritage in Bristol, but after a couple of issues with it in the first 2 weeks of ownership I had all servicing and warranty work done by Bath VW who were a pleasure to deal with.

Cheers guys.

Mixed reviews on Heritage then.

Might try Bath, Gloucester's a bit too far out.

Taunton (Silverstreet) VW was very good for my parents (few years ago now though).

I used VW Swindon (on jnct16 M4, so reachable from Bristol within reasonable time) for some DSG work on the mrs' golf GTI
They seemed very capable for what it's worth and kept me up to date via phone during the work. IIRC They have a GTI pool car that you could probably borrow if required

I used to use them until they tried convincing me my (perfectly legal) tyres were illegal and needed replacing when I had the Golf in for a cambelt change.

They're competent enough but will try it on with the best of FitKwik.
