As per the title, does anything like this exist around the area? I.e. a club that organises meets and events, is not marque specific, and goes off for driving days etc?

Have come across a similar thing for supercar drivers recently, but it's northern based and only for supercars!

Cheers, Mark

I see that you're in Wiltshire, so you might be interested in this group but I've yet to get along to one of their meets. They start up again in April.

Never seen them before, cheers! Does say membership by invitation only, but on another page it says to turn up for an informal chat!?

Will bookmark them though.

Thanks, Mark

Avenue Drivers Club.

Meet every 2nd Sunday at 9 AM in Queens Square, Bristol. Usually a good turnout and a good range of cars from vintage to modern performance cars and everything in between.

You can just turn up but can also register on the below website if you want to receive emails etc.

I've been meaning to try the auto solo with these guys http://www.bristolmc.org.uk/events_calendar.htm

Seems very cheap and easy way into motorsport and you don't need a super-car

But if your after a drive out with a random bunch of interesting cars with no snobbery I think the PistonHead meets are spot on..

That Chippenham Charismatic Car Club looks superb

Why dont we have something down devon/cornwall/Somerset way like that ? If I had the time, skills and ability - I would consider getting it started, but I have too many draws on my time already.
Any volunteers ?
I'm happy to help

When you see things like a standard Rover 214 challenging for the overall lead against Evos and Imprezas, the truth of not needing a supercar becomes apparent. I seem to have been persuaded into timekeeping at the next one.

Here's a snap I took at a previous one.

Thanks for the suggestions people, couple of those look good!

Does anyone think our area lacks anything in terms of gatherings/meetings for owners of sports cars? i.e. events, road trips etc, or is this catered for by some of the names mentioned in the thread?

The problem here in the SW is that the geographical area is so large, and the sporty car-owning population seems comparatively small.

The distances needed to make one of the local PH meets/hoons can lead to a 'two-tank' day, which isn't cheap these days - any kind of meeting Bristol way is, I suspect, just a bit far away for most folks in Devon, let alone Cornwall.
