I need to get a repair done on my exhaust system that will involve a little bit of playing around as a section of pipework needs cutting out and replacing - something that I feel a normal garage will not want to undertake - with this in mind can anyone recomend somewhere that would be able to help in or around the Bristol area.

Found this place, but they seem to geared up to making custom systems, and less so carrying out repairs etc. Anyone used them?

Cheers in advance smile

You could try Infinity Exhausts they do a lot of custom exhaust work but I have seen them do plenty of repairs too. I know Martyn (the owner) fairly well and have used him to upgrade the sound on a number of cars.

Top stuff, thanks for the info smile Always nice to get a recommendation. I'll give them a buzz tomorrow and see if they can take a look at the issue.

It was good to see it shiny smile I suspect there is a nice sound under the mufflers somewhere - will it be as loud as your stereo?

16 months since you detailed it! All I did was wash and detailing spray. I get a lot of positive comments smile

It's a sad day when the standard stereo is the loudest thing about a car biggrin

I'm looking for a sound like this...

Another thumbs up for Infinity - done great jobs on both my TVR's with amazing results at very reasonable cost.

Didn't think that credit card would stay empty for long... Hope the new noise doesn't interfere with Classic FM!!

Paul (JDs) I licked the underside of the car clean while it was on the ramps. They told me you used to do the same... biggrin

Shewie it had to be done wink

I need to do a few miles to see if it'll settle a bit or it's just a bit too much in the cabin (quite a change after the near silence as standard). It's revving more freely and the sounds vary from low rev Scimitar throb to big beaty rumble to howling old Jag at high revs.

On cruise at motorway speeds it's almost as quiet as standard. Just rumbles a bit under load. Pulling away round town hardly needs throttle to get moving and I'm changing gear around 1500-2000rpm. This keeps it to a low growl.

I've gone for oval tail pipes so they look like the standard ones, apart from being twice the size smile

Overall it's quite a musical experience. Martin and Phil are brilliant guys to talk to and work with. Happy times!

You really should! And go for a mild not a mid otherwise the boom will give you a headache wink

ETA having gone for another drive today I'm popping back next Weds for Martin to fiddle with it to tame it a bit. Gawd I must sound like a wimp biggrin

I may have just done a bit of a tunnel run...

Will try to upload the sounds. Not brilliant quality but you'll get a feel for it.
