Christmas Curry - Monday 19th Dec.
Discussion
Right then folks, never started a curry thread but there's always a first.
We are now into December folks, the procrastination is deafening.
Now, I gather that we have the pleasure of Glen's company in the near future, therefore:
1. What are people's thoughts on Christmas curry/beers in Bristol nearer the fateful date?
and
2. Will we need an emergency interim before then if Glen's dates don't match up!?
As I live in the Centre and others may have to drive in, etc I am happy to assist where I can with transport and parking!

Right then.
Central Bristol is a little bit sparse on the curry front, however IMO it would be preferable to be in the Centre for the purposes of extended beerage.
The normal venue of choice is Old India, I'm not sure about other peoples experiences but I was distinctly disappointed last time I went. Well, in fact the last 2 occasions I went. Therefore, I would like to make the following suggestions:
The Raj on King Street Which gives various options for post-prandial drinks, close to Queen Charlotte Street NCP and on-street parking
Kathmandu underneath Colston Tower Somewhat of a marmite venue I understand, however lots of food options. Close to Trenchard car park but not much in the way of immediately local drinking options
And my personal favourite at present, 4500 miles from Delhi (Excuse the annoying sound effect). It's a new place on the site of the old Bar Excellence which is within easy distance of the Corn Street pubs for pre/post beers...
Also, they have a special Christmas menu which looks to be quite a good shout.
So, there is a table below for date availability, quote the table to add your names- And let me know your venue thoughts. I've avoided the weekends since people seem to be busy with festive family duties, and have put "Yes, no, Maybe (YNM)" as below.

I went to the Raj on Kibg Street on Friday and it was absolutely appalling.
I would strongly recommend eslewhere.
On a positive note, might be up for this but can't conform until a day or two before, work tends to get a bit hectic this time of year.
No probs, always room to add/delete one once we've booked.I would strongly recommend eslewhere.

I agree that most of the City Centre curryhouses can be a bit variable
