Car trailer loan/hire in East Devon

Hi,

Can anyone suggest where I might be able to get hold of a car trailer in the Axminster/Honiton type area?

We it to navigate down a very narrow farm track, so a car transporter (even a van-based one) probably wouldn't work.

For what type of car?

You're welcome to borrow mine but it will only fit a Caterham/kit car on it.

Failing that, I often hire one from a place in Plymouth but I'm sure there would be more local place to you.

It's a TVR Chimaera. Nearly twice the weight of a Seven, but it's still not a big car in the grand scheme of things.

Coincidentally, I see you're a Sylva owner. The reason we're trailering the car away is to get this fitted in it:



...I suspect you recognise the half-finished car in the background!

I probably would if the picture was visible!!
The Chimera will definitely not fit on my trailer, it's a Brian James Minno, it will however be for sale in the near future if you're interested?

'fraid not. This is the first time I've ever needed to trailer a car anywhere and probably the last for the foreseeable future!

Coincidentally, the car in the photo was a Sylva Stylus (behind a gleaming new engine for the TVR, hence the relevance...)

They're just rested on in that shot, the heads hadn't even been torqued up when that was taken. Unfortunately it's only now they have that we've disovered a problem with a couple of the rockers, so they've got to come off again. Never rains, but it pours!

Western Towing Attachments (or just Western Towing I think they are called now) do them at reasonable hire rates I seem to remember.

Wow! I only got as far as a telephone quote..which seemed a fair price. It was to take the crashed GTR to Ultima, but in the end Ultima picked it up.
