Just down the road in Delabole is the Poldark inn i have stayed there before, nice pub with good food and they also have cottages to rent on site, lovely views too.

I know the Poldark Inn. Out of interest, how long ago was it you stayed there? It was owned by the Henderson Family. I went by there a few years ago now and in it's place was a new housing estatesmile. R.I.P The Poldark Inn.

It was a few years ago. Thats another great pub gone then but the new houses must have cracking views.

Not sure whether this reply is too late, but the Port Gaverne Hotel (just down the hill through Port Issac) is good. Decent accomodation, beer and food.

We have sat and had a drink at this pub/hotel a few years ago and worth a shout. Very nice setting!!! A twenty minute walk from Port Issac and not full of tourists looking for Doc Martin biggrin

Was going to book a room at the 'Old School House' but after reading reviews on Trip Advisor we decided against staying there, if the Port Gaverne Hotel is a 20ish minute walk away from Isaac then that is a bit far out for what we want, will keep looking though.

I've only ever stayed in one B&B but it was in that area and I absolutely loved it - scared to try another as they set my expectations so high.

"Room 1" is the one to go for, it was a real treat, the breakfast was great too.

7 miles from Port Isaac so maybe not close enough but worth a look if that isn't an issue.

Thanks but too far out, we want to stay in the port so we can park the car and leave it untill we leave.

It is to the main car park at the top where most have to park! As you can imagine car parking in the main town is at a premium. From there it is only a 5-10 min stroll into the town.

Looks nice once you get past their obvious love of Mr Clunes and the tourist trade he's helped bring them smile
