You don't need to pay - it's an invoice not a fine. Ignore any letters (and you'll get a few) and don't enter into any correspondance. They go away eventually and have no impact on any aspect of your life.

You could take a look in SP&L, threads like this are always cropping up. But don't go to the Bad Parking thread in General Gassing, you'll get a new one ripped smile

This is pretty much exactly what happened to me at Halfords Cribbs.

Picture a Saturday morning and an empty car park. I parked over 2 spaces well away from the entrance. I was approached by a warden and told I'd need to park my car within the lines. At first I thought he was winding me up - I politely asked whether he was joking - but he again told me it needed moving. I refused.

He approached me and threatened to ticket my car if I didn't move it. My usually polite and reserved nature took a back seat, I told him the car wouldn't be moving and to write me a f**king ticket if he so wished.

On my return, all of 5 minutes later, he was writing a ticket and placed it on my window, which he thought of as some sort of victory.

I politely informed him it wouldn't be paid, to which he informed me 'it's enforceable in law', apparently. I laughed, drove off and gave him a friendly wave.

I think this was in March of this year. Since then I've received around 6 letters, all threatening to take me to court, telling my debt had been passed on to a recovery agent etc. I've kept them all.

Don't bother responding to any of them! They'll know they've got a 'live one' if you do. Hold your nerve and ignore the lot.

They've given up with me now.

I've never paid a legal parking fine in my life and certainly don't intend on paying an unwarranted and unenforceable invoice.
