Working Monday bank Hol, but have a mate and PH'er coming over next weekend. Either sat or sun weather permitting.

Just looking at castle combe and looks like they have nothing on for the Sat or Sun

Other than driving some of the fun roads over in the South west does anyone know of any events going on local'ish to Bristol area? I'm either on m,y blade or in the kit car and my mate will be in his Lotus.

Any suggestions?

Gurston Down hillclimb, a round of the British Hillclimb Champ, if your into any type of motor sport a very good day out, and all for a tenner!! plus you can get as close as you like to the cars in the paddock, none of that F1 bulls**t !!

Been many times and its very quick !

The thing i like about it is, its a very 'clubby' event, with some serious kit there where you can mingle in with the cars and drivers, i'm hopeing to go, being the British Champ event they are the quickest drivers in the country!

Great suggestion and as much as I love my Old fords feel many of the RS events now take place with Max power types.

If you've never been to Gurston or a hillclimb, its a great way to spend your Sunday. The cars are amazing, the people are very friendly and the competition is exciting. My better half and I have competed there many times, and Gurston with its unique downhill start ranks amongst the best. We are going Sunday, but not to compete this time. We been asked to display one of our cars at this event, http://www.gurstondown.org/latest.htm#f1honda and will be there all day. Be great to meet other Southwest PH's, so please come and say hi.

Did anybody from this thread go to Gurston down on the sunday?

I was there and noticed one PH sunday service sticker in a BMW window but didn't see anything else other than that...

Nice pics, RemaL, thanks for posting. I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you there. I was hard to get away much, as many of my old racing mates came over for a chat and loads of others wanted to ask about the car.

I did meet a few other SW PH's who kindly came and introduced themselves. It was a great day out with excellent action. FTD was a blistering 25.74, a few tenths of the hill record, and over the finish line @ 148 MPH!

It was pretty damp when we arrived in the early morning, but our 'exhibit' luckily stranded in the wet grass quite near the start line, and that's where we stayed for the day.

From your first pic I was stood fairly close to you and from the post above I got a picture of that car and wandered past it a few times... D'OH!

Ahwell I have a thread running in the UK motorsport section already if you wanna stick some photos up there?

Also has anyone any idea what the car that sounded like it had a jet underneath it was? I saw it in the pit's and it looked as though it had Cosworth 4WD running gear but the only run it made that I saw just screamed of a jet of some sort, oh and it was low, flat and white biggrin
