Evening all. Anyone familiar with the above?

Is it a safe place to leave the car for 48 hours over a weekend?

Depends on the car - but generally Bristol is shocking for car crime.

I've left sheds there with no problem, but never anything remotely nice.

There is a housing estate very close to the station, I used to park my car outside someone's house, felt less chance of damage

I'm not normally one for scare mongering - but no way would I park my m3 at any station in Bristol overnight. I wouldn't even leave it during the day.

I lived there for 4 years

Thanks for the heads up. Very much appreciated.

sorry, someone else has clarified tho.

no, definitely not. nice city in places but the station is on the way to the st end of town and there's a lot of opportunist theft from vehicles there.

if you're stuck some of the residential areas up round canynge road way are more safe to leave a car parked, but they're a fair walk from the station area.

More years ago than I care to remember (1979) I worked at Temple Meads station, and left the car on the approach road on nights in view of my office window.

When I went to go home at 7am one morning I found some barsteward had drained the tank.

Doesn't sound like things have changed wink

Many roads in Bristol are now residents only parking so leaving the car anywhere is not an option.

Plus the fact it is Bristol & leaving an M3 parked for 48 hours? I would complete the crime reoprt for the insurance company before i left home!!!

Bristol Parkway station should be fine.

Many people use this to communte to london for the week, so AMv8s, range rovers, xk8s etc parked there all week. so an M3 shouldnt be a problem

I've never had a problem with the Avensis... just the occational door ding from people opening doors on it.

Sadly Clifton has been a hotspot for a few years. As above it's less likely to be damaged at Parkway Station.

Agree. I regularly leave my Porsche 911 overnight at Parkway. Tend to try and leave it on the upper deck as close to the entrance as possible or near CCTV. Not had any problems yet.

Thanks chaps.

Apparently we're booked into the Ibis for the night, at Temple Quay, and the hotel has no parking. They recommend the Temple Mead station car park.

We're off to a wedding on the Saturday, about 10 miles south of town, with coaches laid on to get us from town, to the church, then to the reception and then back again to the hotel. Hence needing to leave the car somewhere for the best part of 48 hours.

Hmmm. Any thoughts for secure parking in the city centre? I don't know Bristol at all, but it looks like the Parkway Station is about 5 miles north of the centre?

Very grateful for the wise words!
