Hi Chaps,

I am trying to find a turbo workshop or a workshop with the facilities to modify an exhaust housing on a turbo. Can anyone recommend a place that could possibly attempt this work or even be willing to offer some sound advice on my problem?

Thanks in advance!

You could try Ajec Racing at Staverton.

That article certainly makes interesting reading!

I looked on their web page anyway and it doesnt say anything about Turbo work or modification, only tuning/services which is not what I am after. Thanks for the recommendation though.

The def do turbo work, but maybe they buy the parts in. I suspect they are closed now though.

My brother lives in Tewkes and made his own turbo for his car (impellers from a scrappy but self made castings etc) I will ask him who he used for advice, when he gets back from Germany

OK, if you could let me know when you do get to speak to him, a PM may be best, I'd be really grateful.

Good grief, I used to have my old E36 M3 serviced by them! (and of course they helped organise our H4H track day at Staverton)

Scary stuff

You could try contacting a chap known as Raeturbo on www.lancerregister.com. He's based in South Wales. As far as I know he rebuilds turbos and has built some pretty special hybrid units too.

Next door to Litchfield in the same building is Powerstation and they should be able to do what you want as they do a lot of fabrication / modification work.

What type of housing is it? I had my Garrett T28 turbo housings modified by Raceshack in Tewkesbury but they went bust a couple of years ago sadly.

Speak to Richard or Dirk at Powerstation.

Looks like it's just the gaffer (Lawrence Kilby) that's been nicked. They were certainly still open the day after the bust, or at least looked that way.

I want to modify the exhaust housing from an IHI RHF3 VQ28 (from a Daihatsu Avanzato TRxx R4) to fit the exhaust turbine of an IHI RHF3 VL37 from an Alfa Mito/Fiat 500.

Turbo's for the avanzato are rare and rebuild kits are not available so I need to find another way. I have previously got a turbo from Malaysia for £170 but I am just looking at other options, hence the advice bit too.

Thanks for all ther advice so far, it's brilliant. I will be contacting people shortly to see what they suggest.
