As the front of my Chimaera is now quite badly stone-chipped and the rest of the body has the wear and tear expected after 58,000 miles and 12 years I'm thinking of getting it resprayed. I'm only going to have the outside done, not under the bonnet or in the boot etc and I'm looking for somwehere local and cost effective. Any recommnedation?

Hi Rob,

assuming as you're "South Glos" that Bristol is right for you?

If so, this thread here has covered it (I'm going to go to JB for a front end respray personally) -

Phillips Car bodyworks in Yatton Kennel (1 mile from Castle Coombe)

Or

Bryn Jones in Brizzol

These are the only 2 bodyshops that I will let touch my cars.

JB Autos - used them myself and recommended them to several people on here who have gone on to use them, some of them with seriously expensive kit, and have been more than happy. He's doing a lot of work for a Porsche dealer at the minute.

Have a look at their website.

I can recommend Peels Motorkraft, they have always done an excellent job on all my cars. They may not be cheapest but the quality of work and care they take is well worth the money!

Does that mean he'll be ignoring your colour request when he sprays it? hehe

Another vote for Brin Jones from me (and I am very fussy) - very knowledgeable and genuinely care about the quality of their work.
