It's our anniversary on Friday and I'm looking to take SWMBO out for a meal somewhere decent.
Let's hear your recommendations Somerset folks!

Cheers

After The Castle in Taunton that has now closed its main Restaurant, Brazz is still going strong , the Sanctuary in Middle Street is good.

Podshavers, near Bishops Lydeard is good.
Mount Somerset is good.
Farthings Hotel, Hatch Beauchamp is (well, a few years ago anyway) good.

Other than that I'm afraid finding somewhere decent with an acceptable level of good food and reasonable service is nigh on impossible in the Taunton area.

Good luck, and please let us know if you find somewhere good!

Very good call. The Missus loves that place!

Also try the Bower Inn in Bridgwater, refurbished last year.

Thanks all for your recommendations. We couldn't get a babysitter on Friday so we're now going this coming Friday! Still yet to decide but we'll probably go to one of the more rural places. Will let you know which we go for.

Cheers
