Hi guys. I have been offered my old 355 that i sold last year back. And was wondering what you thought about me buying it back.
The guy that bought it off me has recently passed away and his daughter is trying to offload some of his collection back to their origianl owners at a very discounted price. I am very tempted but dont know wether i still have a passion for it anymore. i have also thought about getting it and reselling, but this seems abit unfair, and would make me feel a bit ashamed.
I sold it to him for £43,500 and his daughter wants about £35-36,000 for a quick sale. Its a 96 plate. 41k miles and its also a Spider. Has a new service from Graypauls and new roof and hydraulics. Also had a new clutch fitted 4 months ago.

- Why did you sell it? Have those reasons changed? Did you sell it purely because of the money involved, or because it wasn't "the car for you" any more? If it was purely a money thing, and that's not an issue now, then why not buy it back?
- If she just wants nice, quick sales with nice, polite people (am assuming you where "nice" when you sold it to him!) then that could be at least as important to her as reuniting cars with owners; can't be fun to be haggling at this time in her life.
- If she's only doing it as a matter of kindness, and you're fine with the karma of buying it and selling it on - similarly, go for it... doubt she'd get much more trading it in to a dealer. If you'll lose sleep over it, don't bother.
Final option now we're heading back towards Spring is to buy it, enjoy it till September, and sell it then, both making the most of the car and not spending much money.
At £35k (assuming all is in good order) it would be a steal. I would certainly bite her hand off at that price (conscience notwithstanding 
) If you don't want the car you could move it on for an easy £5k profit when the weather picks up. Let's face it, if she's offering it to you at this price it's because she wants a quick, easy sale (understandable) and if you don't bite someone else will.

To ease one's consiense, one could perceive accepting the vendors low offer as an act of kindness to alleviate her current predicament.

Trying to understand what and why the quseation has been posted on the midland section. The Ferrari section or even www.f.cars.co.uk as well as www.fchat.com , would be a better place mate. We are all there (f.cars and F.chat) and can answer any questions you may have. But the price seems a good price for the car, its about 6 grand under so spot on
BUT!! if you dont feel like you have the passion any more then dont buy it.

Just to try and answer above questions
I sold it as the wife is pregnant and looking for a more suitable car. (ie 4 seats) And thewife has a 360 so I use that. Its a steal at that price its at. When i sold it I advertised it for £45,000, and this guy came straight in after a week and offered me £43,500 so I was happy to sell without bargaining. I originally bought it for £42,000 but did a fair bit of work on it.
I think that I am gonna rebuy it now though as it was my first Ferrari and like you say it would be doing the woman a favour by taking it off her hands.
Other cars being sold are Ferrari 328, Ferrari 512, a Jag and a Bently. I think they are keeping the rest of the collection.

Think of the price this way ...
If the chap was a widower or similar there will be taxes to pay and whatever the price differential between what he paid for it and what his estate sells it for, 40% of it would evaporate in tax anyway - which means the real difference is that much less to feel bad about ...
Of course it may not be that way at all but it is at least a way to think of it and salve a conscience.
