Hi Guys

There a few of us wouldn’t mind joining in the fun on Sunday with your little cruise down to the smoke to support the TVR guys.

Is the odd Porsche or 2 welcome with maybe an Evo thrown in for good measure? We are looking at heading down with a couple of the fibreglass brigade anyway.

Most petrol heads are usually more than accommodating when it comes to do’s like this.

Let me have your views gents.

Cheers

I have serious concerns about this meet, dispite my poor health at the moment, I was thinking of going on this run in support of the workers. But to get 450+ cars to the Ace Cafe at the same time, just isn't going to happen. Good luck to all who try. John

I thought the ACE cafe holds about 100 cars?

hmmm.

I am quite tempted to do this....I suppose it'll be ok for a little lotus to join the fray?

Sorry to be an arse but I think the general feeling is that this is for the TVR workers and a thank you for building our cars. For this reason we should keep the meet for TVRs only, it's what a few other guys have said over on the following thread and I tend to agree.

However I believe that supporting the TVR workers by giving donations, supporting the event and giving lifts to TVR workers would also count as helping the TVR cause. I could well be a future TVR owner and I for one would like to see the company remain in Britain.

But you haven't got a TVR?!?

Why don't you drive to Stuttgart or something? Are you so arrogant that you'll go against the wishes of the owners and the workers and dilute the point of the day? curse

Hmm...

people who are passionate about cars.

Don't necessarily drive a TVR.

But....

They appreciate the cars and what they stand for.

I didn't buy a Cerbera because it was British, I bought it 'c'os it was fast.

None of us likes to see British manufacturing closed and moved abroad, no one likes the impact of the loss of jobs on a community.

So whatever you drive, support the cause. (Just don't get caught up in a world record breaking convoy and occupy the parking at the Ace).

Speaking for myself I'd love to see a couple of hundred mixed marques at the back of the convoy supporting TVR, they are demonstrating that they are the potential TVR owners of the future. (Look at what you could have won)!

Mate i was only jesting, the tvr guys at vw were fairly cool dudes that themselves took the mickey out of the reliability of there cars. i hope it all goes well and you achieve somthing from this, even if it to cheer up the staff that were let go. Oh and i have added what i drive and own. Odd that you went to check what i own and drive to prove some sort of point ????

i have my own reasons why i dont post my car, cos i personally think its shit.

in saying that though, id rather have it than any TVR

I never thought of coming to this event as I had other plans but the "only for TVR" thing is a little gay dont you think?

well, i think any support is welcome, but on the other hand.....it is a TVR event, so for more Porsches or Fezzas to turn up would have been potentially embarrassing. Not that more would have.

You need to chill out mate.

Some of us are just cars fans and made a general choice when choosing what we drive. I considered a TVR on many occasions, and may still buy one, but frankly I had £30k to buy a car and not another £10k and every weekend to spend fixing it! Maybe when I have more money I will visit the TVR thing again?

Tell me? Is a Lambo driver a idiot cause its not a TVR? What about a Mclarren SLR? We went down to support TVR and it didn’t matter to us what we were in.

We went a different way to the convoy, kept out of any groups, didn’t take up valuable parking spaces, I even left my car in the middle of the M1 traffic to push a TVR that had broke down. What’s your problem?

Being a "car fan" I thinks it’s unfair you using this forum to abuse "Non TVR" owners. They are great cars, I just don’t own one
