Upsides include absolutely unbelievable weather here in Santa Barbara, cheap gasoline, great driving roads and lotsa good food on the cheap.

Getting to drive all the 2007 sports coupes has been cool, scuba diving in the middle of November, the list goes on.

Downside? My house in England has been burgled whilst i have been away.
:-(

We now have a house-sitter, but alas, too late.
The bar-stewards had apparently gone in looking for the keys to the M3 CSL, (note to the scum involved, they weren't even in the house, so bad luck, loser/s).
But they took the chance to remove a lot of cash and valuables.

Scum.

cant have nothing nowadays, this is disgracefull.

If I was in charge, once they have been caught id use them as a testbed for killer diseases, like aids etc, inject them, then get the doctors to try and cure them, if succesfull move onto the next germ.

ing scum.

Thanks for the kind words guys.
We have not let it spoil the holiday, a trip in a glass-bottom helicopter over and into the Grand Canyon for a champagne lunch at the bottom was awesome yesterday.
Drove the 2007 Shelby Mustang and the same year Corvette last week.
Also the Viper 8.3.

The Chevrolet was my favourite of the bunch, a simply amazing car for what they pay out here. 45K in quids, what other car comes near for that price?

An indicated 198 mph on Route 166 was simplicity itself.

Hi I H G!

Good news also in that they did not damage the CSL when they found they couldn't steal it.

BG and IHG.
The Corvette was so easy to go fast in. Great car.
Route 166 runs from the west coast, inland to Route 33 and has been a favourite road of mine for over 25 years. Not only does it have arrow straight sections which are miles and miles long, your run off is sand rather than houses and barriers, ergo probably the safest road to go very fast on i have ever come across.
I don't know how accurate the clock was when it read a needle's width under 200 mph, but it was a perfect day, cool and clear. No other cars about either.
Basically we were covering the length of Derby County FC's pitch in the time it takes you to blink twice.
