Yeah, i've only been here about 12 months for a masters at cov uni (check profile) and i used to live in Newcastle where i did my 1st degree. God i miss the Toon!

I agree about the Cov trans museum ,its not bad overall. We could try and organise a mini-midlands meet at the museum for some of the PH massive (presuming they haven't all been before)?

Well we'll see if anyone else is in Cov and if needs be we can arrange a mini meet (providing other midlanders are up for it)

Oh and i might have come from newcastle but i'm originally from Perth in Scotland - wonderful driving roads right on my doorstep driving

K321 - are you 'git' on Saabcentral mate? Hows the 900 vert doing - last time we met was in Cov car park and you were having 'issues' with your hood? See if you remember (same username on central for me - i'm the cobra and viper beater on the Gumball thread!)

how about a meet at the museum in Coventry? They have Thrust 2 and SSC, and hopefully soon the Dieselmax car as well.

Its a great museum. Is there good parking for a collection of cars?

Or the airport. It has a good aircraft museum, and is easy to get to

Oh, is there a list anywhere of where the old car factories were? Triumph, Jaguar, Alvis, Armstring Siddley, Standard etc etc. I would be interested to see how much of tht remains.

Deffo up for a meet in Coventry, though!

I actually helped organise a meet with a mate for a bunch of saab drivers to visit the transport museum in cov. There was over 50 cars there and we got agreement from the council to take over a nearby car park we then spent a few hours at the museum and went for a drive to a fantastic country pub for sunday lunch (which has won awards and was so good i recently went back with an ex girlfriend). We even made the Coventry papers - we could try and do something similar if there was enough interest.

Okay, we are gaining a little momentum here then. We'll see how much more interest we get and then move from there. I also think it need not be a purely cov meet, but at least one nearby. maybe between here and nottingham, area (Since they seem to have a decent contingent).

Don't think it's designed for vehicluar access though. Obviously from your pic it's possible, but from what I remember from my last visit you'd have to drive over the kerb and pavement. Maybe you could check next time you're there.
