At todays picnic, a curry night was mentioned, not just Midlands bods, but North West bods too.

However, a note of concern was poor turn out. Hardly anyone came to todays picnic, and the last three Midlands night outs have seen ever decreasing numbers too, from high initial interest down to barely enough turning up for a small table.

I propose a few drinks and a curry one evening. But if we dont get at least a dozen 100% totally committed to coming and turning up and having a good time, then lets not bother eh.

I can imagine that Emma is fed up of booking a table for 18, then ringing to downgrade to 12, then ringing again to downgrade to 10, then we all turn up for a table set for 10, and there's only 5 of us.

OK, enough of the moaning, I fancy a curry with some mates. Say a Saturday might late Sept or early Oct.

Who's up for it?

The reason for the poor turn out maybe because it's a "night" out. With us all being quite spread out, it get's late for traveling home. Maybe a lunch time meal at the Anchor would be better attended???????????? John

Warren, you know you can usually count on my support with this sort of thing, but if you're going to make a habit of shouting at people on nights out I think I may have to reconsider...

...I'm in...curry's good...give me a date and yes will be yes, no will be no.

Iain

OK then, how about this?

Saturday 30th September, probably in Nottingham.

Maybe get some hotel rooms sorted in the City and have a proper none driving, no worries about getting home etc night of it. In fact, be nice to meet up for a drink and light lunch, then have a mooch around Notts, the Castle and museums etc, have some coffees and do some shopping and a wander around, then fade into the evening out, just like that fab day we all had years ago, when emminent PH folks came from as far away as London and Bristol.

Can't you find a nice market town somewhere with a half decent hotel. Why would you want a "nice" meal in the gun capital of England? full of lad's and ladette's out on the binge, or am I to old?

Nottingham is too close for me to justify getting a hotel, but that means I have to drive, so can't have a drink, and I HATE driving down the A42 at night, that bit of road totally freaks me out at night, dunno why. I'll happily drive to London and back for dinner in an evening, but not Nottingham due to that.

Contrary to popular belief it is actually possible to have a decent night out in Nottingham (...ever tried a night out in Kettering? At least in Nottingham you don't spend the vast majority of the night wondering is that male or female...or indeed human?). I've been on PH [curry] nights for the past 2 years in Nottingham, and never had any serious problems, the worst being some young teenage louts at the back of the cinema while watching Cars last time out.

Come have a ball and stop being such miserable sods.

That looks lovely, but I doubt we'd get any change for under a ton each, let alone per couple.

And do they do curry?

I am very much up for a good curry and a few beverages in Nottingham. The last night out that I got to was a good one and I will be back in the sunny Midlands for the end of September.

If it comes down to it, I am happy to have a takeaway with you two Iain and Warren, anyone got any good takeaway numbers? thumbup

Same curry house as last time perhaps, it was a good 'un!
