Can anyone recomend a good alloy refurb place in Leicester, I want a top job doing. I know Jeff Fowlkes do a job but they are £75 + vat. Too much IMHO, I would rather go straight to the man than through a company.

Thanks in advance.

Try Faircharm Restorations www.faircharmrestorations.co.uk. I have seen there coated alloy work and it looks superb.

A bit further afield, but LapTab did my 14" wheels for my Mazda, a superb job, they looked absolutely brand new. £25 + vat each. Laptab are just under Spaghetti junction (J6 M6)

Warben knows of a fellow who refurbed his wheels so perhaps ask him. I too would like my wheels refurbed so maybe we can organise a group discount?

And wasn't the guy who did Warrens some sort of Italian coach repairer dude? I think he said he was very reluctant to do them for him.

Maybe that was something else.

Thanks for the advise I will look into the options you have given me,

I can get them powder coated cheap, but I wanted the original finish on this set.

Bert, yes the chap who did Warrens is a good friend of mine in Ilkeston.
I wouldnt say he was reluctant to do them its just he always has plenty of work on,like 30k repaints on classic Ferraris etc.
If anyone wants to try him heres the original thread as posted by Warren....

Wildcards, Vogue International (Wheelmania) are in Wigston, one of the partners has a SEAC, the other a Ferrari Hammam. They sell wheels and tyres, I'm not sure they refurb but I bet they'll have suggestions as to who might. Dave

Cheers PetClub.

The guy I was talking about is Wayne. His company 'Snow Spray' have 23 years experience and do bodywork repairs and alloy wheel painting. His number is 07884 433766.

He came to look at my wheels, seemed a nice enough bloke, confident in his ability and was going to charge me £40 per wheel to repair outer rim damage and repaint the wheels black.

but can you handle split rims? as in, take apart, powder coat the middle then, and most importantly, put back together with all those little bolts?

Yes, I suppose with 30k resprays on the go anyone would be reluctant to do a set of wheels!
