It's that time of year again I guess when we really ought to meet up to talk bollox, get drunk and party. Now, the last two big nights out haven't been that well attended, so I am hoping that the rays of sun will bring a few more peeps out of the woodwork.

Chassis33 suggested that we go on a riverboat cruise. I quite like the old pub, food, pub, club routine myself, and can't imagine being stuck on a boat with you lot for a whole night (though I am assured by many it is a top night out) so... would appreciate other folks' thoughts.

As for dates, well July is just around the corner. How about these dates:

22nd July

29th July

5th August

I think I can make all of those dates. The reason for suggesting a cruise, or something different to the pub curry pub format is that a change of scenery may boost numbers thats all, presonally, good ale, good food and good companys give a good night out regardless of the scenery...just no clubbing in Browns please.

Regards
Iain

Bloke got murdered outside Brown's four weeks ago, on a Saturday night. Stabbed. Awful!

Great idea. Count me in for any of the three dates, although:

-22nd July. I have an Aston run during the day
-29th July. Silverstone historic, with Aston as the featured marque.

I'm also single again, so this could make a great night out.

Is that Coventry? Worries me - that's our usual, IF we go drinking in Cov.

As for dates - currently can do either 29th or 5th, but am waiting to hear on a friend's boat/bbq/bar evening which will probably be one of them.

The first Notts night out I went on a prick started mouthing off and being generally offensive towards me in Browns, thankfully (having read the above) his mates pulled him away as soon as I stood up to him. Not a nice experience, the first, and hopefully only time that will happen.

We usually get refused at Browns, but then I guess we do look like a group of the 'Forest Executive Crew' amungst a sea of students

A day out on a boat with a meal would suit me better than night in a smokey, noisey club, were you can't talk anyway. It's my age you know. John

I think that the river boat cruises are just in the evening. I must confess that I haven't looked into it that much. I thought that I would find out what most people fancied doing first.

Definite maybe for me. I am back in Leeds but a little drive down to Nottingham would be a laugh. Pub for me rather than boat, last one of those I did was in Sydney and ended up with mass food poisoning!

Any date for me

Oh, cant do the 5th, will be in Italy.

Cant say I fancy an e-coli cruise either, notoriously dodgy are small pleasure cruiser galleys.

excellent idea. We'll all go to Italy with Warren. I'm sure he wont our company...

Seriously, anothing sounds good by me. A riverboat sounds like a nice change. Is there a cricket 20/20 match on those nights? (if you havent been, its not boring: not like the stuff you see on TV at all, but realluy good fun. And with crowd pleasers like "if you vcatch the ball you'll win a years supply of beer", etc.

They are a great night out. And the Leicestershire cricket ground is spitting distance from where I live.

Good thinking my friend, Trent Bridge has plenty of 20/20 too. It'll definitely be a change and we can go for food and beverages afterwards.

Sorry, you're not my type.

Think I'm in meant to be in Budapest on the 22nd
And there's a bit of a York(shire) PH do on the 29th for Bob The Planner's birthday

Other than that (i.e. August), I think I'm free...

So, given Williamp's and J_S_G's July commitments, and that BG is in Italy on the 5th August, is 12th August better?

Hmm, sounds like it may be difficult suiting everyone for this.

I will be in Italy for the 5th, 12th and 19th.

Arse!

So, shall we have it on the 5th, minus BG

or on 26th, when hopefully everyone can make it
