TVRCC uses the Fox at Exton sometimes, but there are a fair few nice pubs that way. The one we went to for the Rutland Rumble was nice, but I can't remember the name.

Hi Mark, Longers would know better (he's from Uppingham), but if you take the Uppingham to Oakham road and turn right before Rutland Water you'd go through Manton and Edith Weston. Memory fades, but I think there is a nice pub there that must be close to the water. Or, if you go further round there used to be a nice pub in Empingham (White something or other). Sorry, this may not be much help! Raining heavily in Leicester now, but it should pass.

Hope to probably join you guys for one of these meets (if Leics people are allowed!), when time allows, sounds like you have fun. Don't forget Ashby Folville 2TOTM. Dave

Hi Mark many thanks. 2TOTM = 2nd Tuesday of the month. Ashby Folville is a very small village midway between Leics and Melton. No shop, just a pub, cricket pitch and some houses. I guess you might say the event is not organised as such, but attracts several hundred people (perhaps upto 2k) on the night, especially if the weather is good. Last September for example, my son counted about 47 Lotus 7 looking types, 20ish TVRs and so on. There are usually many dozens of bikes, some road going quads, 'mod' scooters, vintage cars (2 Bugattis September ), vintage bus, all sorts. The cricket filed is used to park on (April it was too wet for that, quiet night but still 200 ish there). Only thing is, if it's good weather, I've arrived at 18.30 and the field can be full! There is an overspill field that's sometimes used. The pub opens it's skittle alley bar, and this year plan to open an extra one in the cricket field. Costs £1 to park up (proceeds going to the cricket club and charity I think). Again, all things being equal, I hope to meet up with Longers and others to drive to the May event, so if time etc fits OK, feel free to join us. Dave
