I expect the marriage proposals still stand if a real katydb9 shows up

Why join up as someone you are not? Is it just me who can't see the sense in that?!

Dave.

At all above comments:

For the db9 imposter.. Sod off!
My money is on the fact that he is a chav/mental patient, or combination of the two...?

Dave. (Not an Uncle but I think my choice of name might haunt me )

Three Wells, let me know the two profiles that I banned erroneously and I'll reinstate them.

A work of art in a museum is great to look at but so what? It's how it goes and feels and handles that matters most and £115,000 for 450 bhp is naff, whichever way you look at it.

I think you kinda miss the point of a DB9 or indeed any Aston Martin, they dont have to pack more horses than the latest RUF Porker, or exhaust note of a GT40 (note 40...I've never heard a GT in the flesh so can't comment), or the handling of a Lotus Elise or the presence of a Sagaris or whatever.

It just is simply one of the most wonderful marques out there, for no other reason than it exists! The same could be said of Bristols or R-R's or that Holden Efigy from a month or so back, some cars just are pant wettingly desirable, even if maybe they aren't the epitome of engineering/ergonomics/whatever.

Rant over

Agreed, but for me, name and heritage are part of the melting pot that is the passion of cars, the same as I love V8's and I/V6's, cant stand 4pots...they make the wrong noise, nothing to do with power or power delivery, just the growl of a V8 or the howl of a 6 send a shiver down my spine, a 4pot just leaves me cold.

There are many 4pot cars that will out perform any of my V8's or 6's, I'm not interested
There are many cars better built than TVRs and Rover, I'm not interested
There are many many cars that dont leak, unlike my TVRs and Rover, I'm not interested
There are many women who give me less hassle than my girlfriend (sorry hun), I'm not interested

Just like every man has a different opinion over the most beautiful woman on the planet and vice versa, everyone who has a passion for cars has it for a different reason, for me its awesome growling howling exhaust notes, being poisoned by various forms of automotive aroma, leather, walnut, semi-burnt optimax, being wrapped up in the nostalgia of the name, the car etc etc. Not caning it around in a ricer or whatever your chosen steed is, capable of preformance yes, capable of getting me excited everytime I see it, NFC.

So long as I can keep rocking in the 'free' world I'm happy for everyone else to aswell.

Iain
