I'm planning to be out and about with the cameras - anybody want to join me?

More to the point, can anyone remember the 1985 Lombard RAC route through the Park? I'd like to be in position at a good photo location (bearing in mind it will be dark if the times I have seen are correct - hmm, batteries for the flash units) before the cars start to arrive.

Woo hoo! I'm free! I shall check out the site later and drop you an email to let you know if I'm still free on Friday. Should be a great spectacle.

Not completely sure about a great spectacle 'cos the cars are almost bog standard and cannot be more than 1400cc normally aspirated. That said many of the competitors towards the back of the original Lombards were in similar spec vehicles with perhaps even less power than a modern car produces.

BUT I rather suspect that it could be great to see 140 almost equal little shopping hatches tackling Wollaton Park - especially as it looke like it will be in the dark - previous information suggested it would start to pass through from about 13:30 hrs so some daylight action rather than the dark.

The weekend is spent thrashing up down and up the traditional forest stages in Wales. It's tempting to head out for some of the day and night stages there but I'm not sure I can make it.

Not only the date is wrong it seems. The time of the first car at Wollaton Park should be around 13:29 apparently, not 16:00 ! The info on the web site seems to be more correct than the recently circulated press release.

Mind you it is a Friday so I hope the timings allow for the traffic.

I should have more info about the best places to spectate in the park in the next couple of days.

Well, now you come to mention it ....

I think it is definitely Nottingham - unless it should read Mottingham.

Pretty sure it's this year though ...

there will likely be a few minis there, 1400cc in a mini tends to make them fairly souped up! cooperman (usually found on the mini forum) may well be there as he races in enduro rally with his mini
