sold, dudes.
I had nowhere to keep it, it kept getting mutilated outside my house (grrrr) and I was tired of worrying sick over it being trashed when I came home or woke up in the morning etc...tried to keep it on friends (spacious) driveways but parents got hoity-toity and forced me to move it but where to? no point in a lock up as it wouldn't get driven and in any case the fuel tank was fecked so I coughed £200 to get it trailered to london where I planned to give it to a dealer but at the last minute a chap called up who'd seen it on PH and bought it on sunday...I was bid in the balls at 6k but I had to take it as I was desperate
hey ho. won't be replacing it until I move house to somewhere with a garage.
the mini however is either getting a full race 1380cc or a huge turbo engine or my favourite (and cheapest) option is a vauxhall 2.0 16v engine conversion...which should be as quick as the ginetta anyway (seriously!)
I am a bitterly sad person at the moment, that car was all I wanted..bugger. time for beer

Tom! You swine! I really wanted to photograph her and now she's gone
She was a real beauty. I was showing my friend a picture of her at the weekend I am sorry for you. I understand your predicament though as I went through the same turmoil everytime someone walked past the house when my ex's Corrado was getting trashed all the time.

Tom, I am genuinely gutted for you, £6K FFS, I cant believe it. If I had any idea you were that short I would have bought it myself, despite BG costing me a huge number of readies at the moment. We could have sorted out a buy back option or something. Anyway, too late now.
Really, really sorry dude.

you and I both dudes
I was up a certain creek without a certain instrument - nowhere to keep it and nothing I could do about it either. except store it at my flat in newcastle but where's the point in that? bloody hell.
I had to turn away when it drove off, I really could not bear to look at it, feels like I have lost a part of me
the mini will shortly be a ripsnorting monster though, and that should ease the pain a little

Bloody hell Tom, that's criminal.
I've been looking at my garage for the last few days wondering if I could make enough space to offer storage or some sort of arrangement along the lines BG mentioned above. Would have coughed up myself at the 6k mark but didn't want to be insulting.
But for the huge potential for management going ballistic, I was very tempted. Not sure the sound would have gone down well locally and it would have been a shame to mute it - and as you say it needed to be used and I doubted I would really do it justice.
Oh well, one less idea for me to be juggling with.
I do feel for you though. Time get a triple garage with a pad attached it seems!

Mate I am absolutely gutted for you. I remember the first thing you told me about the car was that it was the perfect car for you and you couldn't bear to sell. 6 grand is a kick in the balls for sure and it was an absolute peach.
However Nottingham isn't the best place to keep a car like the Ginetta out on the street and sadly the yobs will always do their best to spoil everyone elses fun.
I hope you find something great to replace it with when the time comes and that the monster mini is as good as it sounds!

Tom, just found this thread. How sad, I too was in love with your G33. I know you had little choice and I'm sure when your location improves you'll be back with a vengeance with some awesome motor. Don't be too upset, it was the catalyst for some serious grief. Fun at time I know and in time you will recall with great pleasure the times you spent with it.
Chin up, and start seeking out that perfect Lotus.
