Mobile auto electricians

I can’t recommend anyone, but something simple and French May well be a relatively easy fix with a multimeter, a relay tester, and a test light.
The South Main Auto channel on YouTube, (amongst others), has some really good ‘how to’ videos on auto-electrical diagnosis.
If you have a go yourself, what’s the worst that could happen?
Also, if you list a few symptoms on here, there’s some guys more experienced than I who might be able to point you in the right direction.

Thanks for your reply 105.4, I’ve been round in circles with the multimeter, Haynes manual and google. I’m now bored and just want it to work. The challenge is that it’s a 205 gti with a 306 gti6 engine running carbs on the 205 coil / dizzy etc. I’ve done a full nut and bolt rebuild of someone’s part finished project. I have very low voltage to the coil (0.1v). I tried a direct positive feed to the coil and still no spark, although I’m going to check that again in case there was an issue. There is a relay that provides power to the fuel pump and coil, the fuel pump has 12v, the coil doesn’t. So I’m a bit lost!
Any help or suggestions from anyone appreciated!
