Which V12 models are the most afforable, from say 1994 onwards, in top condition?

Sounds a good option!

Tom, I saw a Ginetta 'G33' article in the week. Would that be similar to yours?
It looked a little different though, but that could be just me.
Guy was saying it had 210bhp as standard.

might have been a G34 which was launched as the replacement but without the pop up lights and with a few refinements (pah, wuss )

oh and the factory quoted 210bhp but apply the TVR rule and you'll get my drift.... most have 175-185 bhp as the 210 was without any bits hanging off it when it was dynoed. mine makes 197 on a RR for some reason it seems to simply be a 'good' one.

where was the article? i'd be interested to read it

I'm amazed that Ginetta is "only" 197bhp, seems very quick for that.

Me Sunbeam now sports 227 brake
Gives the 355 a proper hard time to 100 now...

it's the 270lbs per foot of torque combined with a 795kg kerb weight that makes it fly!

Much more than that and you would be needing some super sticky rear tyres methinks. Or a heavy passenger!

550 M's are available between 50k and 75k - you need a substantial fund for maintenance and to be the kind of person able to allow the excitement associated with their sexy image and road presence to outway the build quality and periodic issues - I thought I could but when it came to it realised I couldn't and so went for the safer 997C2S but if you can good luck to you

I agree, maintenance on the 12's is generally breathtaking, I would think you would need to have a hefty maintenance budget. Good thing about these with the exception of the Testa and 512 is they are not so much in peoples faces, so you may not get so much of the good and bad reactions from people that you will driving a bright red one (most of the 12's look peach in most hue's bar red), ie the world and his mother recognizes a red 308 as a Ferrari, a dark blue 550M will not get the same recognition. Thats a personal choice tho'

The 997 is a stunning car, I had a 996 and test drove a 997, but (please don't take offence) don't you find the Porsche a little bit soulless after the Ferrari experience?? I would find it very hard to go back unless I needed a supercar I could use everyday in all weathers (which the Ferrari's are not, another point worth considering V8 OHC).

Pretty sure I will stick with the Detroit Alloy for now, having read many peoples' views.
Don't want a constant wallet-basher, especially when this car goes so well.
See what I fancy next year.

Having owned two RV8 TVRs and seen M's car and him drive it Minimax's numbers and conclusions sound about right to me.
