Collecting Cars Coffee Run - Donington 27 November
Discussion
There is a Collecting Cars event on this Sunday (27th) between 09.00-12.00 at Donington Park Circuit if anyone is interested? You have to pre-register via the CC website.
There is also one at Bicester Heritage on Sunday 11th December between 09.00-17.00 hrs (in conjunction with Porsche Club GB) if anyone wants to use some Christmas shopping as an excuse for a drive out....

So what exactly is the Donington event?
A large car meet (no track action) with CC & some of their partners there & they are doing them in all sorts of places around the UK from looking at the website - Chris Harris has been known to turn up to some of the events & they appear to attract some serious metal as I went to one at Bicester Heritage a month or two ago ( https://collectingcars.com/stories/our-coffee-run-... ). It's the first time they've organised one at Donington

I’m heading over too….rude not to as it’s half an hour away.
I think one of my friends is bringing his Caterham.
Met a guy in a Caterham next to me in Derby this evening. He worked for the company, I told him about the Donington event. Guy said he was up visiting a mate, wasn't you was it? I think one of my friends is bringing his Caterham.

If anyone is travelling up the M42/A42 & wants to travel in a group to the event, we could always meet at McDs at Appleby Magna, Measham (just off J11) at say 08.45?? - there's no point in being sat in a huge queue to get in IMO
That’s where I’m meeting at least one person…for an athletes breakfast.

Possible, however I was next to him in a traffic jam. Also if he works for Caterham, I doubt there will be two visiting friends in Derbyshire tonight.
If it was your friend, ask him. I was in the silver jaguar XKR.

Yes a great event with a wide variety of cars and youtubers.
Leaving the venue was a little time consuming, but I can see why. A very well organised event and every one well behaved.
I do wonder though, how did they make money with the venue being free to enter. Surly Donnington would have had an event fee.

We were having the same conversation. Whilst Donnington probably did ok out of coffee and food sales, the marshals etc much cost a bit. Leaving the venue was a little time consuming, but I can see why. A very well organised event and every one well behaved.
