Truvelos at the A453 bridgeworks nr M1 J24
Discussion
Locals will be aware the the A453 near the powerstation and M1 J24 has some long term bridge repair work in place. Been around for a few weeks already. Road sometimes close at the weekends, extended lead in to the works area at 40mph, etc.
And now, a Truvelo scamera each side of the very short bridge.
So the work is scheduled to finish in November and half way through they stick 2 Truvelo's there, sensors in the road and everything. That's quite an investment if they are temporary, given the need for power and sensors and road markings.
What did they do - pre-order and then find they were not allowed to place them where they originally intended but can get away with using them for 'temporary' applications at roadworks?
Not sure if they are operational but there is not obvious sign that they are not. Would be about right as it is MotoGP weekend to anticipate that they are live.
The one heading south from Nottingham is forward facing, though the white markings cover both lanes. Did not spot any sensors on the other side of the road but it was getting dark and I may have missed them.
The one heading to Nottingham is rear facing, so biker's not immune.
Take care everyone.

Update.
Have been through a couple of times in daylight now and it looks like the southbound is a Truvelo with active sensors southbound only but markings across both lanes.
Northbound seems to be a Gatso. No embedded sensors, just markings on the road.
Whether either are active is anyone's guess. I haven't had a radar warning for the Gatso so far.

not so much of a problem these, more of a nuisance irritation at the money spent on them by the scam partnerships and the very fact that they are there at all..
had a very good razz down the A453 yesterday, it wasn't so much bother to do 40 over the bridge, I expect the mini quite appeciated the rest!
