EAST MIDLANDS MONTHLY MEETS
Discussion
Okay folks let's get this back on track! We should arrange a single monthly meet at a pub with a decent car park so we can look at cars as well as talk about them. Anyone fancy kicking this off with a meet on the first Tuesday of the month?
I'm going to suggest The Peacock to try first as it is only a couple of miles of decent country road (with no speed cameras) off the A38 on the border of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. Website for the pub can be found here -> http://www.peacockinfo.co.uk/
Other suggestions for a venue welcome!
Mods can we please remove the East Midlands monthly meet stickies from this subforum as they are now pretty much dead?

I think there are a lot of PHers around Nottingham so it might be more ideal to move the meet further south.
I've never been but somewhere like The Rose and Crown in Morley should be central to everyone and it looks to have a decent sized car park.
If others are interested in a regular meet then you need to speak up.
P.S. For September there is a Saturday morning meet happening in Hucknall. It's detailed on the general events page.

I think this needs a bit more thought, and I'm not so sure the venue has been the problem, folks have just been busy this summer, that's all IMO.
For most of us (by most of us, I mean the regulars, but who are we catering for here, the same old, or new blood?).
South of Derby/Nottingham - No
East of the M1 - No
West of the A6 - No
North of Clay Cross - No
Geographically there's not a lot wrong with the current venue, and the bringing in a takeaway option has always been useful (the only downside being the all too regular soapy beer, which has always irked me for a real ale pub with a good selection).
I recently discovered this place, there's lots of space inside, a good car park, good food/beer, but again, it's a bit out of the way for many.
