Hi, does anyone else do this? With Nottm being all dug up at the moment for the tram and the A453 it's driving me nuts.

So much so, that I am strongly considering the purchase of a motorbike for the journey.

I think I can probably halve my commute time - does anyone do this journey on a motorbike already that can bear out my theory?

I used to, then decided I was better off without a proper job.

I'd get a motorbike if I were you Ross - Maybe you could rent a flat in Colwick for a year cheaper than buying a bike? smile

Thank you Edward for your (un)helpful reply.

Perhaps I should just set up a camp bed in my office?

Even better idea - or maybe you could work nights?

Think how easy it will be when the tram route is finished. You'll be able to leave your car at home and "do your bit".

I go from Wilford to Ashby in Leics and know the feeling of being hemmed at the moment.

When I went from here to Derby I used to go through Long Eaton to get to the A50 which, although longer, was quicker and more relaxing than churning down the A52 every day.

I feel for you. Get that bike and stay safe. Roll on 2015.

Splendid idea Alex - does the Nottingham tram go anywhere near your work Ross?

If not, maybe you could move your office? (I read someone who said they could knock down & rebuild Birmingham 20 mins closer to london for £50bn, shouldn't cost you quite that much to move)

Thanks Inny

Ed - no it doesn't.

Alex - shouldn't you be in the southern shandy drinking bedwetters region forum?

I live in Alfreton and commute to Wilford to work on the tram!

Terrible at night.

You could see it as an opportunity for quiet contemplation and self improvement. Turn off radio 2 and get some audiobooks - maybe by some business gurus who might give you some good ideas?

Or I could get a nice 1000cc v twin and dodge the traffic ;-)
