I think I have got this in the right regional area!!

I am about to move to Nottingham (University) and was wondering if there are any PHers in the area?

I was wondering if there are any PH meetings or car clubs who meet in and around Nottingham.

Although I am leaving my car at home *in Yorkshire* I would still like to be an active Petrolhead so to speak!

Hope to meet some of the Nottm PHers soon...

I'm in Carlton. And anywhere else, for that matter.

Theres a few in Hucknall (although they aren't that active on PH) I'm ex-Hucknall now Sutton-In-Ashfield (a bit further north but the house prices are cheaper)
Meeting wise there is the Griffins Head meet, which is the 1st Wednesday of the month, and more details are in a thread a few rows down and in winter there is the TVRCC meeting at Lowdham on the 2nd Sunday of the month at the Old Ship, more details can be found here....

Though bit of a lurking PHer, I am also in Carlton.

Must get along to the Griffin's Head one month...

Not seen 'Seton' on here recently, though he lives very close to me also.

Cheers, Phil

Seaton Must be working him too hard at my old place Either that or he's got his 4x4 in bits again,
How are you Phil, married life ok
We could sort out a Nottsish karting event, we have found a decent place on the A46 we've been to a few times, fast karts, outdoors, and quite a good track

Knew there would be some Petrolheads lurking in the area!!!

About the Griffin meet, is it still on 1st wednesday of the month in autumn/winter?

Obviously I wont be at Uni until late september so october would be the first meet I could get to!!

Although I may be in town for the September meet (albeit minus a car) so I might try and get to that one.

Cheers for the info!

No, it's only a summer thing, all the old boys lock their classics away over winter Keep your eye on PH for the date of the last one, I think it's September 1st

What sort of selection of cars do you get there?

(not that it would take much to outclass my crappy Scirocco... )

About as diverse as you can get! Hi from another Notts member BTW. Last time we went the usual suspects were mostly MG's, E-types, Cobras, Triumphs etc but there were some entertaining ones like a 'blinged up' Ford monster wagon thing with 20 inch chrome wheels - that was a gangster mobile and a half

I see you are going to the proper university then, affectionately known by us ex-Trent bods as Beeston Tech! I live in the centre of Nottingham. I don't go to any car meets though because my car isn't worth a second glance. I'm sure you'll love Nottingham. I moved here 16 years ago. I met Ace-T and Judas in halls of residence and the rest is history.

Ex-Trent here as well... back when it was a Poly... and all fields (or something)

Might have a trip over next month then - I can always park around the corner

Is it a mainly out in the car park thing? (if fine weather) Or more inside?

All the 'classics' are usually in the field, it's very weather dependant if it's raining turn out if very poor, I'd stay at home and watch TV

Nice. Always liked them...

Prefer the earlier ones, currently looking for a cheap S13 version...

'Twas uni when I got my PGCE and MA Trace! Still shit though! I actually made a formal complaint to the Registrar about the quality of my tuition on the MA. My tutor didn't speak to me for nearly three years!
