De-cat friendly MOT station
Discussion
Went to walk the track at Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb on New Year's Day and got speaking to a chap called Mike Fisher. He is now retired, but his business continues with both his son and grandson working there.
Fisher Restorations in Droitwich does MOTs and I plan on taking my non-cat Caterham 7 there when I bring it off SORN in late Feb. As they are used to dealing with older vehicles as well as more recent ones, Mike said that having no cat would be quite normal for them.

Thanks for the replies - to confirm the car should have a cat and my previous choice of MOT station has had their license revoked.
It will fail on emissions
I think I'll just be putting the cat back on the car - it needs to go back to standard anyway to sell.
And all of those mentioned for turning a blind eye on here will be joining that list too!It will fail on emissions

Seems they were too friendly then which shows you can't have friends if you run an MOT centre. The only fair test is a test carried out to the manual. Unfortunatly the general public seem to have a different view of what is and aint a fail. It was bad enough when testers just had the opening line of "my mate down the pub says...." but now we also have internet forums and the many opinons that presenters now come "armed" with

Hello Sean.
Hi Oli!The place I used to take it wouldn't fail a dangerous car, they were just lenient when it came to emissions. I'm not sure why they got shut down, but along with the new rules it's easier to just put the cat back on. It's a shame it's in the bloody manifold!
