Hi guys, I've decided to take a couple of years off... I'm flogging the beemer and I'm not going to be replacing it until I get back in the black with the money situation. Also I've lost my car pass at work so I won't be using the car as often as it deserves... Also find a big BMW a bit overkill as a purely weekend car.

I thought I'd feel sad at this but its really for the best right now, I can still get around quite easily. I am hoping a bit time out might reignite my enthusiasm which has been starting to fade at times I admit.

In a couple of years I'm hoping to own a lightweight car of some description without debt hanging over it, as is the case now. I know I've posted stuff like this before but I was always hoping it wouldn't come to this, but alas, it has.

In the meantime I would still like to make it out to pistonheads meets so any offers of pax rides will be gratefully accepted smile

Cheers insanojackson - I'm a bit sad to have to do this, but to be honest, its been on the cards for a while - I was originally optimistic that I could keep it and live the standard of life I've become accustomed to, as well as getting rid of the debt, but 6 months down the line, and its become apparent that this isn't the case.

Shame really, its a bloody nice car, best I've ever had for what it cost, and the fact it can mix it with newer and better cars and not be at all embarrassed is a testament to how good these cars are.

On the plus side, I'm hoping when I return, I can return in something properly fun and focused (I was hoping for a Westy or something similar).

Krise - I've emailed you mate.

Sorry to hear this Paul, your car really does put a lot of other more expensive hardware to shame, kept up 100% on our run out the other week, you're welcome to a pax in mine any time matey.

Insano, hope your situation works out okay too, its been ongoing for some time now.

Sad times all round, but these things will work out for the better in the long run.

They have yes, but unfortunately they have escalated this week and it means the sack is a possibility now because of the level they have taken it to, all this cos of faceboook eh!!

Its a shame because I was actually goingt to go out and place a deposit on a range rover evoque for oct/nov delivery for my daily driver but not sure if this would be a wise move now??

Im still tempted though as its 1000 quid deposit and although 1000 quid is a lot of cash to me as it is t anyone to be honest its pocket change to what i will be loosing if i loose my job. Still tempted as it will at least give me something to looks forward too! and if i delay til all this is sorted then I will wait ages for one.

I wont go into the full details of it on here but do not trust your colleagues, about 10 of mine who had made a concious decision to be my friends on facebook have made statements against me.

Sorry to hear this Paul. Sounds like the your making a difficult but sensible decision though. Onward and upward as they say.

Meant to mention the other day, next run out your welcome to jump in the CSL if my ballast (missus) isnt with me.

with this facebook st. i have work mates on there but would never post anything that could effect work. I thought that was just a given.
I see people I went to school with often post comments about work being crap, this person being a wa**er etc etc. regardless if you have or havent got work people on there, still a bit stupid.

Things are crap at the minute, works quiet and the fact the economy is screwed means I cant get people through finance checks in enough volume to make a decent wage. Im now toying with the idea for a complete change of job..Hope things work out as you need little perks in life like looking forward to using your car on a weekend to keep you happy.
