Hi all,

Miss Tameracingdriver wants to get me a racing experience day, she has ~ £100 she would like to spend, so was wondering if there are any recommendations on here. What I don't want is one where they say you can't rev the car or anything like that... I'd quite like suggestions of both who I should go through, where, and what car I should drive....

Any suggestions? smile

I have (at Croft) I did the Caterham day a few years back (don't know if they are still doing this now) it was well organised and I had a really good time. IIRC however the price then (about 5 years ago) was about £150 so I think you'll need to spend more than you were mentioning. I suggest you phone the admin office at Croft and ask what they've got coming up. Either they'll tell you or they'll point you towards one of the Companys who organise experience days there. Enjoy.

Avoid Elvington experience days if you don't like restrictions. I did that and then I went Go Karting for £40 at Teesside and enjoyed that a whole lot more than driving a Ferrari around an airfield.

Have a look at www.drivinggift.co.uk and their experiences at Tockwith near York. All these experiences now are much of a muchness, and having worked for them all over the years, I can say that pound for pound, and within easy reach, theirs are worth looking at! The venue is quite basic, the track is reasonable, and the cars are ok! David who runs the days, plays an active part, instructing along with the rest of us, and you won't be treated as badly as you are with some operators. It would probably be advisable to speak to them direct on the 'phone, their number is on the website & are based in Darlington. HTH Howard
