I'm taking part in a charity clay shoot on the 4th and 5th June. It's an amazing shoot and, if you're into shooting, well worthwhile. For details check out:

If we can get a PH contingent, we can meet up on the day over bacon butties.

Nearly half of the teams have been sold already and I expect the rest will go fast so, if you'd like to enter, get in fast.

On another note, if this is of interest:

www.azerleyclayshoot.co.uk

and also

http://www.nationalgamekeepers.org.uk/events/3/

You'll have to join the NGO for the second one but, at £30, it's worthwhile.

No worries. It was a great day out and thoroughly enjoyable. Mind you, the targets were very challenging not to mention fast. I've never shot clays whilst sitting on a hay bale before!

Are you doing the Golden Grouse?

I'm tied up that day unfortunately.

I've never done a simulated day before, but with the seasons being so short i really need to start to find some.

the sporting layouts at the local grounds are getting a bit staid. (not that i hit them 95%+, just need some variety)

From next month, Steve Smith's will be offering flushes of 60 clays for up to three people on the partridge stand on Wednesday evenings. I'm planning to get some extra practice ahead of the 4th & 5th June! wink

I've often fancied doing this. Are the guns hired within the price or would I have to already have my own? Not too far to travel; sounds good.

Everyone needs to come with their own guns. It's a shoot that's geared to people with some experience - a flush of 100 clays is not for the faint hearted but it's a LOT of fun. I'm told that a member of the Army Rifle Association wrote in last year saying that it was the best day's shooting he'd had in 15 years and that's saying something.
