My usual MOT garage has changed ownership and is a bit of an unknown quantity.

Anyone know an MOT station in Newcastle that won't extract the urine when testing a 22 year old Porsche?

Not Newcastle but, I use Autominster in Morpeth. I deal with young Graham. He does a lot of trade work for my mate. Good lads and use common sense. Worth a trip.

I used a little garage in Pelton for the vx220, bloke was spot on. Made me change my plate though which was understandable!

Been using Hi Performance in Roker Avenue Sunderland, for my 83 911 MOT's over the last 6 years, have always been fair with me.

I (and most of my direct family) use:
Bridge Garage

Address: Front St
Postcode: NE23 7QS
City/Town: Annitsford, Cramlington (Northumberland)
Main phone: 0191 2500091

The main bloke there John used to run service at the Ponteland ford garage till it's demise. It's not a glamerous outfit, but he chages good rates for normal work, irrespective of marque - and I've never seen any frivalous "you need pads mate" rubbish either.

Mods, hope this isn't past it re. advertising - but I have no commercial interest here, I'm just a happy customer.

I use R&P Woods in Heaton for all of my servicing / MOT's.

Never had an issue.

Gee! R+P Woods. I remember them.
I filed them under my "Not with a barge pole!" section years ago.
Just goes to show though, some places work for one guy but, not for the next, eh.

I used R&P a good few times for Skyline and 200sx stuff, couple of other bits. Never had a bad word to say about them.

Hi Stu, yep a few people on here find them good. I had a crap experience with them years ago where they were shockingly bad but, like I say it's a case of "judge as you find".
OT - You're getting through bikes at a rapid rate! What you riding this summer, the MV in your profile?

Ha, well why not eh. If you get an itch, you may aswell scratch it.
I've just got the old R1 now. I let the GSXR go last year. I've been riding less and less the last few years, despite saying "I'm going to ride more", at the start of every year.
Car trackdays coupled with a sudden fear of coming off, have something to do with it. Must be getting old. wink
My mate's got one of those BMs but I've not been round for a neb yet. They look awesome. What's the quality like? Outstanding I guess, like their cars?

The lads at Tyne Tyres on Tanners Bank in North Shields are good. Doug does the MOTS, he's thorough but the garage don't take the mick.

I've never used them but they will probably be my go-to garage from now on, I've heard they are good.

Yeah I know the feeling regarding riding less, this year's the first in a couple I've done any real mileage. I'm looking forward to some car days again next year. The BM is brilliantly built, very very high quality, which makes it a nightmare to put back together once you've taken it to bits hehe Really happy with it, but it's lacking something compared to the likes of MV and Ducati to me. Stupidly quick though, love it.

Now here is one I would not reccomend, took an old BMW there for 3 years, failed each time but the first 2 years I fixed it and it passed 2nd time, 3rd year it had quite a long list despite no advisories and only about 2500 miles, I think they were trying it on as there was an itemised quote for all the faults.
This garage is opposite sainsburys and behind the Lexus dealers. No name and shame here!
