Just discovered a screw in one of my 4 month old tyres so gonna need a new tyre, anyone got any good recommendations local (Newcastle/Gateshead) to get a single tyre replaced? (preferably cheap too :P)

The tyre I want is Continental SportContact2 195/50 R 16 88V if that makes any difference.

If anyone could help that would be great smile.

Are you sure it needs replacing and can't be repaired? Where is the screw?

Thanks for the reply smile.

Erm I have no idea if it can be repaired, wasn't even sure that it could be repaired? I'll get a photo in about an hours time and post it up on here.

Where would repair a screw in a tyre?

Sorry, may sound a bit daft but it's my first car and never experienced anything like this before haha wobble

Thanks again

If the screw is on the flat part of your tread and at least about 1" away from the sidewall, it should be repairable. smile

Dave that looks like it should repair providing it's gone in straight, if your heading to the valley for a repair Walkers Tyres is the best place, only charge about £6 to repair, Barrys Tyres just over the Tyne Bridge on the Gateshead side are very good as well if your coming over from town to Gateshead

Thanks a lot to everyone who replied, just had this fixed by Tip Top Tyres on scotswood road as I was passing.

Cost me all of £8 and they did it in 15 mins. Thanks to people on here it was a hell of a lot cheaper than the £126 I was gonna pay for a new tyre!

Thanks again smile
