Small grey cameras mounted on road signs?
Discussion
Noticed a few of these over the past few nights, one at the top of Bensham Bank on the bus lane sign, one before you cross the Redheugh Bridge and they seemed to be installing some heading out of Gosforth towards the central motorway. Some form of traffic monitoring perhaps? not a type of camera i've seen before.

These temporary cameras are often for survey purposes. Info gathering to assess the traffic levels prior to road works, assists in choosing which direction gets the most lanes etc.
ANPR uses the H section road surface sensors and the fixed (usually blue) cameras
The ones on the Felling Bypass were been put up when I drove past they didnt seem to be in any exact position so I assumed they were traffic survey camerasANPR uses the H section road surface sensors and the fixed (usually blue) cameras
