Hi I'm wanting to get my car on a rolling road to check power and torque figures and maybe an ecu remap if the car is running lower than normal power.

I'm willing to travel to somewhere in the Newcastle or Durham area.

I've heard stories of places massaging the results to make owners happy, I just want the actual figures so I can see if my car is running as it should be.

Can anyone recommend a place I can trust to give accurate readings?

Thanks.

A positive report on Motoscope from me, results were in line with the results I got from RSTuning in Leeds and I had no issues with them. The only time we had issues was after some DSG cars had ran and the 'normal' cars got slightly skewed figures afterwards. (Oh, and then when some silly powered cars couldn't get grip on the rollers hehe)

Wasn't the figures in particular, just the lack of listening. I had an issue on the car they were to map and it came out running but it wasnt right. I spent another few hours with the lap top and it was a million times better.

Fair enough, I've never had any work done by them (other than a standard service) so haven't had to make them listen to me hehe Understandable that you're disgruntled with them though!

PD Tuning Lie on their website.

They state that they offer a full refund if you are not satisfied on every remap.

This is not true. they refuse to give a full refund.

I did notice this on their website and thought it cant be true..
Did you ask for a refund? What problems did you have?

I was going to book up this weekend with pdtuning for full diagnostics and rolling road remap.

Let's just say opinion is divided on both of these observations.

Another two negatives for Motoscope here (note the correct spelling of Motoscope too) crap customer service and crap mapping.

Josh, RS Tuning is your best bet, Dyno Dynamics RR and people that know what they're talking about, plus one of the lads (Andy Speck) has the fastest FWD road legal car in the UK, which in my opinion is a good selling point, you may not see it that way though.

Altyhough a bit further away, Harrogate, I would reccomend DayTuner. He is backed by SBD who are well known. His forte is MBE but he will turn his hand to anything. The important bit is not a BHP claimer, he just knows how to get the best from an engine

I've had my car done at PDT and can reccomend their services, also had many family and friends go there, never had a single issue or complaint.

I'm there tomorrow for a dyno day, will raise the concern regarding the website issue that someone mentioned, just out of interest, what car did you have tuned and why did you want a refund?

Adam.

Good reports for Motoscope here - had a few cars done there (all race!) and all with good results! Richard certainly knows his stuff and we've always found him very receptive and has plenty stock of jets for carbs too (Old school technology is better imo - you can fix it without the need of IT!!).

Well if Motoscope are good with oldschool stuff as in carbs then thats good, they certainly arent much good with anything electrical.

My mates trackday car was there a few years back, they had it for 2 days and gave it back supposedly mapped, but said it wouldnt start for an unknown reason. He paid them for the mapping and trailered the car home to find the cause of the non-start problem, which was soon discovered. they had removed the grommet that sealed the wiring loom between the engine bay and ECU and left the car outside overnight, which resulted in a rather waterlogged £850 worth of omex ECU system.

They refused to admit responsibility, ecu was repaired and luckily the damage was minor but how about the mapping? They had altered about 8 load cells in the map (a map contains over 100) when we compared it to the base map omex supplied, car ran like crap.

When he took this up with them they were ignorant and rude.
