Paintless dent removal

I am thinking of starting my own paintless dent company in the north east and was wondering what the market might be like so if you could give me your views on the idea I would appreciate it.

I have been doing it for just over a year. And I live In Guisborough so will be looking to work as far as Whitby i think

Dealers are the place to hit, and most dealers have people they know, use and trust.

I understand that most dealers have there dent techs but I can only try and I am hopeing to get a bit of retail work.

The retail work is a limited market, you'd be best to try and get a franchise for someone like Dent devils etc

No, but work for a main dealer and know how many we get in looking for buisness when theyre starting out. It's a tough one to start off in. We at my current place and previous place use the same guy, as he will drop a job to come help us out if we need him. Thats where you'd struggle when starting as people would see it as unreliable.

ETA, I know speaking to the regular guys we use that they do little retail work. They come to us and spent a couple of hours checking the forecourt etc doing dents then go to the next daler they do and spend all day doing that.

Not many retail people are aware of it as a process, unless they go into a garage and customer x gets put in touch with someone to do it, again the regular guy that visits the garge. Customer X wouldn't normally pick up yellow pages think, "Ah im going to get guy to come out with some sticks and push that dent out". They still think panels get painted. To raise awareness you'd need to do some kind of advertising campaign, and if that was going to be worth while then others would do it.

My suggestion of a franchise route is due to the name dent devils etc is well knownin the field and from what I understand they have a national call centre that takes booking for you from retail work, and it would be a respected name to attempt to use to get into franchise dealers etc

Hope I don't come over negative, i wish you all the luck in the world but if your not in that line of work already you may struggle to get a foot in the door.

Did anything come of this? Reason I ask is that I have bought a Z4 and it has a couple of dents on one door and one on another that I would like to have removed.

I searched dent removal in the NE forum and only found this thread.

If anyone knows of anywhere then I would appreciate some info. Also an idea of price etc.

Im in consett and will at some point soon be needed a rather strange dent removed from the door of my scirocco. Its small but in a very strange place and the paints not damaged at all
