Was thinking of buying a flat in 55' ,some bargains to be potentially had at the moment. It doesnt seem to be the most popular development in town though, anyone have any experiences of living there, good or bad?

Cheers

Hi bob, no immediate experience of the building but my office is in the area just to the east of it, a mixture of harmless students, and some real low life scumbags, prob attracted by the salvation army shelter which almost permanently have the police on site for one reason or another.

Can't see the appeal of living on a roundabout myself but I do assume there are some pretty spectacular views higher up.

I've no idea what the cost difference is but I would have thought somewhere like the Turnbull building might be a fair bit nicer.

I've only been in while the refurbishment / conversion was underway.

The small / lower floor flats all seemed to have the windows too high. Ok view from a desk / dining chair, but sit on a sofa and all you'll see is the sky.

The top floor flats are very nice though.

The Turnbull is fantastic in comparison, but again the higher you go the more spectacular they get.

A very good mate of mine lives in there and has done for a few years. As a bachelor pad it is absolutely ideal and fine for a young professional couple too, with secure parking underneath and of course the most central of locations. Go and have a viewing and make your own mind up.

Hi, I used to live on the 8th floor 2 bedder sold for 240K in 2004. The Flats are OK but the kitchen fitments are not the best and you do get noise transferrance from the other flats. The flat attracted a strange mix of professionals, students, retirees and the odd we. There a concearge and tthe parking is safe and secure underground. There are alot worse in the city than here. I was used to living in town previously having lived on bath lane and ther quaysie so the city noise did not bother me. Avoid the new developments by BT on the quayside they are small pokey and overpriced.

If I was investing again I would buy invest in Gosforth flats, Sandringham road or somewhere like that for £150 frp a two bedder, great rental income and constant supply of tenants

I agree; who wants to live on a roundabout. Service charge at the Turnbull is a steep and a deal breaker.
