Conservatory roof panel damaged - recommendation
Discussion
1 panel of my conservatory roof has been damaged by falling snow (cracked near the edge)! Its approx. 80 cm x 220 cm (at least its rectangular and not one of the more complicated shapes) and when we bought the house as a newbuild we ordered a conservatory and the firm which the developer used are based in Staffordshire so not terribly convenient right now. Anyway, I've already called them to see if they could recommend someone locally but have been waiting several hours for my promised call back!
Meanwhile, can anyone personally recommend a place to try (I live in east Durham) and any idea on cost? Trying to work out whether to hand the whole matter over to the company who my house insurance is with (and make my first ever claim!) or just arrange and pay for it myself. Quite keen to get it fixed though as there is currently a small gap which will let in water....
Thanks in advance.

Wickes and screwfix sell honeycombed conservatory panels, assume yours will be smoke, clear or bronze but generally any good building plastics place will stock these panels. There is a building plastics place in killingworth near newcastle.Meanwhile, can anyone personally recommend a place to try (I live in east Durham) and any idea on cost? Thanks - they're whiteish panels. Have managed to find out they are made by Ultraframe and got 2 phone numbers in the North East for Ultraframe approved suppliers/ installers - can't get an answer from the nearest one and the other, in Notthumb, said they could come out to assess it in Mid Jan!
Think I might just let my buildings insurance company sort it out....

Are you looking for someone to supply and fix, or are you looking for a source of the panels for a DIY job?
If it's DIY, try Bay Plastics on the Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate?
If you can't get it sorted quickly, I'd suggest some decent quality tape over the crack, inside and out, now while the weather is decent.
