Driving my Disco around in the snow has really whetted my appetite for some proper Landy off-roading. It's normally used for carting crap about and towing stuff. I'm in the Spital Tongues area.

Thanks!

I don't know of any where in the Newcastle area, but plenty around the dales etc but I wouldnt be keen on going in this weather.

My friend has a part time business doing green lane tours (link below). I think he charges about £45 for a day out. For that he gives a plenty of tuition and you also have the safe knowledge that you won't get stuck as he has plenty of equipment to get you out of any situation. Some people would say why pay £45 to use green lanes, but I think it is a small price to pay for the reassurance you get.

Have a look in particular at the gallerys

The Forestry Commision do ranger guided "Safari's" in Kielder Forest pretty regularly and they are great fun and usually include a quarry to get proper-mucky

have a look at their website and events and you should see some details...

If you fancy a proper play with just another 2 or 3 that know what we doing get in touch. You must remember that the technical term is that greenlaning is NOT off roading. We do the both for a bit of fun usually a disco 300tdi a series 3 and my ever so slightly modified defender puma. We are all based in Hartlepool ring me daytime 01429 234841 (work) Chris.

Went on one of these yesterday and it was great, there was a mixture of 4x4s and there was only one section that I and a few of the others decided not to venture down so we went on an alternative route. All in all a good day and driving on the snow and sheet ice in the forest was great
