Hi I've owned a 2008 / 08 plate from new (3 litre S-Line).
Front tyres went on outer edges at 9k miles - Audi contributed half cost of replacement (fair enough I thought - I'd had 9k miles out of them). I replaced rears at 15k
Since 9k miles I've religiously followed tyre pressure recommendations similar to above, also have suspension on "dynamic" setting most of the time (prefer that setting anyway).
I'm now on 27k miles still running the fronts that were replaced at 10k and the rears replaced at 15k.
Consistently average 28/29 mpg - 33/34 mpg on a long run. (impressive when I compare to my Boxster S sold recently which is maybe half the weight and averaged about 24mpg !)
I had to have a new turbo fitted under warranty (small oil leak on drive was only symptom I noticed). Otherwise trouble-free.
Servicing costs - not sure - I signed up for Audi's fixed cost plan for first two years (very reasonable £22/mth excluding tyres) and that covered my first service and consumables (wiper blades/pads etc), but I think you can only get this from new.
All round it's been excellent and we've been very happy with it. Any other questions just ask (I'm in Hartlepool by the way).
Mine's up for sale c.Feb/March - new Discovery 4 coming in March. Let me know if you're still looking then !

S-Line spec/trim
Only extras are: Heated front seats (a good choice given this winter and last!), and Parking System Plus which basically gives front parking sensors as well as rear (which I think are standard) with both an audible warning and a visual proximity indicator on the MMI screen. I think this is essential given size of car.
Pads/disks not done to my knowledge (unless done when serviced @ c.17k miles - not 100% sure).
4-wheel alignment done at 9k miles when noticed problem with front tyres. Not done since - not sure why I would need this given it's driving okay and tyres are lasting fine?

We've just taken one in px and at under £30k I'd rather have it and a large wedge of cash in the bank still!!
Did u buy from Newcastle Audi group? 3 of the cheapest ones have already gone... all is left is £28k+ the 4.2 V8 is eyed up is still at Teeside branch, so tempting...Sounds like you got looked after then! What year did you go for? The one we have in is a 57 reg SE

I have an Audi Q7 4.2 S=line which I love. It is a real work horse and we have done 60k miles in it in the last 3 years. Combination of long and short journeys including regular visits to the alps during the ski season.
I have not had the same issue with tyres as so many other people have had. I last changed my tyres last December. The place where I go is fab and recommended a 'General AWT' for heavy loads. With an average of 20k on the same tyres I think I am doing pretty well. I have always changed all four tyres at the same time - not sure if that makes a difference. I do tend to keep them inflated as per handbook but am not meticulous about it - usually check once a year!
I do not drive it slowly either - I have one or two other speedy cars and so expect a high performance - which it delivers. Ironically, I believe that the brake discs tend to need changing more frequently than I would have thought - Clearly, my driving style.
All in all, I would recommend the Q7 to anyone. I love it!
