Hi,

My VX220 needs a replacement rack, I think, need to check this weekend but I want to know my options.

Therefore, does anyone know anywhere local that can refurb the rack. Titan who make the reack do it for 55 pound plus parts, probs £30 or so. Just would be nice to use somewhere local so I don't need to pay silly postage costs.

Cheers

Cramman.

try the propshaft specialist at the southern end of Team Valley Trading Estate - they do their own racks on site.

pretty comprehensive place doing a lot of prototyping work.

They no longer do it. The fella I spoke too said there are no one local any good.

A few claim to be able to do it. He suggested sending it back to Titan.

I've used these in the past: http://www.westernpowersteering.co.uk/index.html

Couldn't fault either the service or the product.

For info, I packaged my rack up (including TRE's) and took it to The Post office. I expected to be bum raped for postage, was slightly surprised when it cost approx £7 for special delivery.

Sorry for the late reply, loss of locking nut has stopped play.

It was strange, they said they didn't do it, then asked what car, then said they didnt have the parts.

Must be the same place as he said there was no one else about.

Cheers, if its got to be posted I'll probs send back to Titan, their service is meant to be good and as they made the fecker I guess they should have the bits.

I may have a spare rack kicking about that I could refurb and then swap you to save the wait.

Or I could refurb yours but you don't know what parts you need till you start pulling it apart.

Thanks for the offer. Had a good look this weekend, turns out its the front left gaz, swapped to the originals and the noise had gone.
