Bloody snow. Just saw a highways officer closing a lane of the A1 near Gosforth park by putting a "keep right" sign at the edge of the road and then standing in the middle of the left lane, waving traffic over to the right. On a sunny day it might not be advisable to stand in oncoming traffic that is approaching at 70mph, in heavy snow and generally terrible visibility, it's suicidal!
I just can't believe how slowly some drivers 'make us all' drive on what are just wet roads just 'cos there is snow on the grass.
I drove my old 2wd A4 back from Otterburn yesterday after 15:30 with no real problems - yes it was snowing - just at a steady 40mph where needed(unsuitable trackday tyres)and half an hour later told the road was blocked.
Then it took best part of an hour to do Denton Burn to Lobley Hill with no apparent reason.

A light dusting of snow...
Getting sick to death of this now. My car looked like an ice cube when I went to it this morning. Cleaned the snow off it to stop it from freezing into a single giant block like it did last year. I'm confident I'll be able to drive around tomorrow, despite the forecast for snow tonight again.
feck me did it snow last night between midnight and 3am whilst i was at work, i was sick of the people needing assistance as they were stuck, do they not realise that my car is going to also get stuck when i try to get to you and i have no super human driving ability?
Also sick of people using the weather as an excuse, however big credit to the man i followed for about 5-6 miles this morning riding a moped!!! from dipton to consett, great riding!

Just tried to help somebody push their Yaris out of a parking space. Their technique was to dial in 20,000 rpm and dump the clutch. They then tried to clear the snow from around the rear wheels! Some people really can't be helped!
I went for a bit of a trek this morning and took some snaps so thought I'd share.
This isn't going anywhere!

Bloody hell, someone must have been going some to get a Scoob stuck and in need of recovery!
That's all to do with tyres IMHO. Just fitted snow tyres and the difference is unbelievable. Not saying they are the be all and end all but make a massive difference. Although I think the wifes A5 is a lost cause Gassing Station | North East | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
