So NEPHers, I need another one. I have just over £2k to spend. Want something fast, but relatively reliable, so if you know of anything, let me know smile

Sorry to hear you've sold up Paul, whats the reasoning? Probably need a bit more of a clue to what you're after, but a few suggestions below. Always had a soft spot for the Fiat Coupe, hmmm.

French?

Italian?

German?

Hi sean, just fancied a change to be honest. The 5 was great fun, but I never truly bonded with it.

Like you, I too have a soft spot for the fiat coupe, and that is a car that appeals for its looks, performance and engine note. Just a bit worried about reliability (that old "italian" stereotype).

The calibra suggestion is an interesting one with that engine, not exactly a slouch is it... Not sure what the handling would be like.

Other than that, big engined beemers would appeal. I fancy something with more than 4 cylinders.

I have an Omega MV6 manual looking for a home for £2000. Really nice condition, too. 52-plate and just over 100K miles. Silver

let me know if you'd like a try.

Currently thrashing out a deal for an E36 328i Sport, but I'll let you know if anything changes.

Good choice. Loved mine when I had one. It's going to feel big after the MX5 but you'll grow into it quickly. If you do go for one, look up the intake manifold mod. It completely changes the character of the engine as well as adding the best part of 30 bhp and for £400 or so I'd say it's well worth doing.

I saw a 2001, 60k miles Jag X-Type 3.0 in the local paper for £1500 the other day.

Fairly fast (0-60 in 6.6 secs), AWD and looks fairly recent has they hardly changed the shape right up to 2009/10.

Everyone on PH will rib you about it being 'just a mondeo' though. rolleyes

Well I'm sort of dithering as to whether to even attempt this at the moment.

One forecast (BBC) suggests we'll have heavy snow again at 9pm whereas another one (netweather) predicts no snow, but it looks as though its alright the further south you go so.... hmmmm!!
