Anyone up for Karting?
Discussion
With the lighter evenings, is anyone up for a Karting session in Middlesbrough or Warden Law?
Cheers,
Ian
PS Thanks for the comments about the car. I still can't get over the reaction I get when out and about in the car, it's a joy to drive and does everything it says on the tin.....and some.
For the techno's, the car is producing 400 bhp, 390 ft/lbs torque. 0 - 60 3.4 seconds and where permitted 0 -100 7.8 seconds. "Changes direction like a fly".
Cheers,
Ian

I'd be up for it, indeed I regulary head across to Warden Law. In fact, I'm heading there on the 30th of this month with a bunch of Uni mates. It's £37 for a 15 min practice and a 30 min race.
I've never won yet mind, usually a close second until I blew a kart up and got the duffers cart!
The one at 'boro is a little long, the track isn't so well looked after, the site not so desirable, the karts are twin-engined jobies and the safety there is somewhat suspect.

duno bout that stefan - boro is a hoot!!! last time I was there doing an inter-club challenge I ended up 'collecting' someone on the first corner (shouldn't cut me up lol!) and doing a bit of grasscutting!!! the track was fine and you get some good speed with the twin engined karts!
warden law was a bit odd, simply because the heavens opened and we ended up driving in sou-westers on slicks... cue spinning off every corner. WL is a bit too twisty too, whereas boro is more plant-it and go...
having said that, I got airtime at warden law!!
and we should have handicapped runs, because us "slimmingly-challenged" peeps would probably find it hard to keep up!!!

I like that phrase "slimingly challenged"!
The main reason I didn't like 'boro to be honest was that the organisers didn't seem to care to much what you did. I was there with NYTVRCC, and although it was painfully obvious we were the slowest there we did enjoy it.
The problem came when people had accidents, they went flying off curbs into each other, over grass/sand over curbs damaging the karts and all sorts and the organisers didn't seem to care.
I spent most of the time been over-taken to be honest which limits enjoyment but the spaces between the karts was huge due to the sheer size of the track. At least at Warden Law you see lots of people and are always around someone.
Plus with the karts are more suited to the tight and twisty, hard cornering track.
